The National Park Seven Cities was created in 1961 and its area is of 6.221 inhabitants. Its climate is hot and tropical half-barren, with annual average temperature of 26°C.
It is located in the north of the state of the Piauí, the 140 km of Parnaíba. Situated in a transistion band it enters ecosystems of the open pasture and of caatinga, it protects species of the found fauna and the flora in two ecosystems, as also one of the most beautiful sets of geomorfológicas formations of Brazil, known as sete Cities of rock.
The National Park of Seven Cities consists in a true University, where its laboratories are the open sky. Sciences as Geology, the Botany, Zoology and Archaeology can be studied through practical and concrete examples.
The paintings found in the rocky walls of the Park compose estilo Seven Cities. e is characterized for the predominance of geometric drawings.
The set is commanded and harmonic, with circles, lines straight lines, sun curves and parallel bars, representations, moon, animals and hands.
